Anonymous Dual Credit Scholarship



Preference to African American students who is currently attending Freeport High School. Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or better. Financial need will be a consideration.





Anonymous Scholarship



Preference to African American students who attended Freeport High School or Aquin. Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or better. Financial need will be a consideration.





Barbara Revenaugh-Garcia Memorial



First preference to Computer Science major; second preference to Animal Science major. Min GPA 2.5 and Financial need.





Becky Werner Memorial Scholarship








Betty and Ray Stamm Memorial Scholarship



Student must be full-time (12 or more credit hours) and enrolled in Nursing (not to include CNA). First preference will be given to residents of Lena-Winslow





Betty and Roger Dornink Memorial Scholarship



Applications will be accepted from full-time sophomore students residing in rural areas of Highland’s district. Min. GPA of 2.5 and financial need will be a consideration.





Betty J. and Charles W. Hayes Memorial Music Scholarship



Applications will be accepted from full-time sophomore students studying music with 1st preference given to a student in a string instrument. Must be a resident of the HCC district, min GPA 3.0.





Carl and Neenah Fairbairn Memorial Healthcare Scholarship



Student must be enrolled in healthcare program





Caroline Pohl Staley Memorial Scholarship



Must be accepted into the HCC nursing program. Minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Financial need is a consideration. First preference to non-traditional students





CFNIL CollegeNow Scholarship



Applications will be accepted from HCC district high school students who have a letter of acceptance from their CollegeNow Advisor or are currently in the CollegeNow program at HCC (Letter of acceptance must be attached) Only full-time students attending Highland from the following school districts are eligible: Aquin, Dakota, Durand, Eastland, Forreston, Le-Win, Orangeville, Pearl City, Pecatonica, Stockton, Warren, and West Carroll. Eligibility for this program is based on financial need. Student MUST be a recipient of the School Fee Waiver program.





CFNIL Dual Credit Scholarship



Students enrolled in dual credit classes with financial needs who are attending high school or homeschool in Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson or Winnebago counties of Illinois attending HCC. Student MUST be a recipient of the School Fee Waiver program.





CFNIL Non-Traditional Student Scholarship



Must be a “non-traditional” student. A “non-traditional” student is defined as a student who has not continued their education immediately following high school or who is returning to college after having stopped out of college without completing a degree or certificate. Students must be Pell Grant eligible and live and/or work in Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson or Winnebago counties. Scholarship may be used for past due balances so that a student can re-enroll and complete a degree or certificate.





Charles Endress Memorial Scholarship



Full-time student pursuing education or science, who is a graduate or student of Pearl City or Le-Win High School. CollegeNOW students will be considered if not already funded by their high school. Min GPA 3.0





Charles Kleckner Memorial Scholarship



Student must currently be employed as a CNA and seeking higher education in the healthcare field OR be pursuing a CNA certificate. Financial need is a consideration.





Charlotte A Zartman Scholarship



Student must be a sophomore pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education or Professional Ed.





Chris and JR Kuberski Scholarship



Student must be a 1st generation student, reside in the HCC District and have a minimum GPA of 2.75.





Compeer Financial Agriculture Scholarship



Student must be pursuing a degree in Agriculture and residing in IL, WI, or MN counties while attending HCC. Financial need considered.





Cristina Lambert/Wagner House Alumni Scholarship



Student must live within HCC district. Preference to student pursuing business major.





Daniel Reusch Scholarship



A full-time student enrolled at HCC. First preference to River Ridge HS graduate; second preference to Jo Daviess county. This award is not given for academics or highest GPA but for general accomplishments, likeliness and determination to succeed.





Davis/Balluff Scholarship



Student must live in the HCC district (Mt. Morris resident preferred), be full-time and demonstrate financial need. Min GPA 3.0





Deb Endress Memorial Scholarship



Student must be majoring in education or Nursing (must be accepted into the program). Financial need may be a consideration.





Del Scheider Agriculture Scholarship



Awarded to a full-time HCC Student, who resides in NW Illinois and is pursuing a degree in Agriculture with academic standing a consideration.





Della Mae Coppernoll Scholarship



Full-time sophomore pursuing a degree in preparation for a career in Early Childhood education. Preference may be given to a Stockton High School graduate. Min. of 2.75 GPA with financial need a consideration.





Dennis and Carol Endress Memorial Scholarship



Student must be attending Highland full-time, priority to second-year students, but CollegeNow can be considered. Preference is for a graduate of Pearl City High School. Min. 3.0 GPA.





Dick and Irma Dittmar-Ames Memorial Scholarship



First preference to a graduate of Stockton High School. Academic accomplishments will be a criteria and financial need may be a consideration.





Diversity Scholarship



Preference to a Student of Color or first generation student pursuing certificate or degree program. Available to full- and part-time students.





Don and Florence Evans Scholarship



1st preference given to a student who has been diagnosed with a mental illness. Second preference to a student pursing psychology, sociology or a social work degree. Min. 2.5 GPA





Dorothy Yates Scholarship



Student must reside in Illinois. Accepted in nursing program with preference to ADN nursing program, not to include CAN. Full-time student with minimum GPA of 2.5. Financial need is a consideration





Dr. and Mrs. Ozro Hill Scholarship



Student must be majoring in Agriculture or Healthcare. Financial need may be a consideration.





Dr. Marie Heimerdinger Pre-Professional Health Scholarship



Sophomores majoring in Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Chiropractic, Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Medical Technology, or Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Preference to Stephenson County residents.





Duke and Bev Herrling Scholarship



Full-time sophomore student pursuing a degree or certificate. First preference to education major.





Eagles 679 Sportsmen Association Scholarship



Student must be a graduate from a NW Illinois high school or HCC sophomore and pursuing course studies related to Field Biology, Wildlife Conservation, etc.





Early Childhood Consortium Scholarship



Applications will be accepted from Highland Community College district students who will be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours at HCC for the upcoming spring semester, pursuing a certificate or degree in Early Childhood Education.





Edna Hayden Johnson Memorial Scholarship



Preference to African American females. Students must have a 2.0 GPA, reside in Freeport, IL and interests in education, nursing, or cosmetology.





Eduard Buss Business and Technology Scholarship



Full-time students with major within the Division of Business and Technology at Highland Community College, including the following: Accounting, Agriculture, Computer Science, Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Computer Technician, Cosmetology, Welding





Eduard Buss Fine Arts Memorial Scholarship



Full-time students majoring in Fine Arts including Art, Music and Theatre. Min GPA 2.75 preferred





Eduard Buss Forensics Scholarship



A 2.0 GPA is required for high school, college, and must be maintained while attending Highland Community College. A 2.5 GPA is preferred and will be given first consideration. Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours at HCC, participating on the Highland Forensics team. Full-time students will be given first consideration. Character and maturity that will be complementary to HCC and HCC Forensics Team, that encompasses public speaking, interpretations, and debate.





Eduard Buss Humanities/Social Science Scholarship



Full-time students majoring in a Humanities or Social Science discipline (excluding Fine Arts) including Criminal Justice, Communications, English, Foreign Language, History, Journalism, Mass Communication, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Speech, Other H/SS Curriculum Academic excellence will be the primary criterion used in determining the winner. A minimum high school GPA of 2.5 is required. Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA at the end of their second college semester.





Eduard Buss Natural Science & Health Scholarship



Full time incoming freshman students majoring in a Natural Science or Health Discipline. Awardees may reapply for second year. Min HS GPA 3.0





Edward J. and Jane McConville Sullivan Memorial Scholarship



Full-time HCC students majoring in Agriculture. Must be Stephenson County resident. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.





Ellen Stadermann Community Service Scholarship



Student must reside in HCC district with a strong track record of community service. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.





Emmert and Florence Klaas Scholarship



Acceptance into nursing program with preference to an ADN student. Must be full-time student with minimum 3.0 GPA, and a permanent resident of HCC district





Ennenga/Holm Memorial Scholarship



An HCC district high school student enrolling full-time fall semester, majoring in Business Administration. Min.3.0 GPA.





Eunice O'Malia Memorial Scholarship



Student must be a full-time sophomore attending HCC in the fall with a 3.0 GPA and financial need.





Fine Arts Merit Scholarship



Full-time students pursuing theatre, music and art interests, and a minimum GPA of 2.75.





Frederick and Alice Kirkman Scholarship



Student must be attending HCC full-time, 2.5 GPA, and first preference to Forensic student with next consideration for Math or History majors.





Gene Haas Scholarship



Students in enrolled in CNC program at HCC.





Gerald Meier Scholarship



Student must be majoring in Agriculture or Healthcare. Financial need may be a consideration





Goodwill Industries Scholarship



Student must reside in HCC district and be permanently physically, mentally, or developmentally disabled with documentation from a physician or service provider as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. A temporary disability is not acceptable.





H.G. Kable Memorial Scholarship



Full time student, preference for Forreston, Oregon or Mt Morris High School graduate. Financial need is a consideration.





Harlan and Jean Koberstein Scholarship



First preference to a student majoring in education, resides in HCC district with minimum GPA of 2.5.





Harold D. Walkup Scholarship



HCC full-time, preference to resident of Mt. Morris or Ogle County. then HCC district, and in financial need. Student must be pursuing a 4-year degree (Liberal Arts preference), 3.0 GPA from high school.





Harold Lee Offenheiser Ecology-Biology Scholarship



Full time students majoring in the area of Ecology or Biology; overall academic excellence will be the main criteria.





Harry A. Warthen Scholarship



Student pursuing BNA certificate. First preference to student interested in geriatric care. Financial need a consideration





Highland Chapter #108 of Pheasants Forever Scholarship



Full-time students pursuing a conservation-related or agricultural science major. Preference given to HCC district high school student.





Hobart Scholarship



Student must be full-time, and a Student of Color, an undocumented student, or a returning adult who has earned a GED.





Home School Scholarship



Student must graduate from a home school and attend HCC full-time. Scholarships will be given to incoming and enrolled home school students pursuing associate’s degree.





Hubert Kepner Memorial Scholarship



This is a scholarship for books, the student must be pursuing a degree or certificate in Ag or Manufacturing,  must live in the HCC district and display financial need.





Irvin and Dorothy Seuring Memorial Scholarship



Full or part time students enrolled at HCC. Financial need may be a consideration





J. Rosemary Shockey Memorial Scholarship



This is a scholarship for books, supplies, misc. fees available to full- or part-time HCC students pursuing a degree or certificate.





James A. Davis Memorial Scholarship



Student must be pursuing a manufacturing/technical curriculum, i.e.: CAD/CAM, engineering (Architectural & Civil), live in HCC district, 2.5 GPA. Preference to Stephenson City resident.





James L Frisbie Memorial Scholarship



Full-time HCC freshman or sophomore who lives within the district. Preference given to Dakota High School graduates.





James Schneiderman Memorial Scholarship



Awarded to a Forreston High School graduate. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.





Janet K Blankenhorn Scholarship



First preference to student in the cosmetology program with second consideration for students pursuing a certificate or specific trade. First pref. to Orangeville or Freeport HS graduates, then to HCC District.





Joe and Jennifer Kanosky Student Trustee Scholarship



Annual scholarship to support the student who has been elected by the student body to serve a one-year term as the HCC Student Trustee. Application available after election.





Joseph and Bettye Mihina Nursing Scholarship



Must be accepted into nursing program. Full-time student with minimum GPA of 3.0. Must demonstrate financial need





Juliet Moderow Ornithology Scholarship



Full-time student residing in the HCC district with interest in ornithology or bird conservation related field. Min 2.0 GPA.





Ken and Marien Stein Scholarship



This scholarship will be awarded to a 1st generation student pursuing higher education. A GPA of 3.0 is required.





Krug-Phillips Memorial Scholarship



Student must have completed 15 cr. hrs. in general education, 2.75 GPA, Stephenson County resident, and in financial need.





Kutz Family Scholarship



First preference to HCC student enrolled in the nursing program. Minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Must demonstrate financial need





Larry Kahl Scholarship



Student must be participating in men’s or women’s basketball at HCC, applications available through coaches.





Leonard C. Ferguson Memorial Scholarship



Student must be the son/daughter or spouse of a Newell employee; financial need and entering HCC as a full-time student in fall.





Lola Burd Borchers Endowment Fund Music Scholarship



Full-time student studying music (vocal or instrumental), min. GPA of 2.0 and in financial need.





Mae Grebner Memorial Nursing Scholarship



Students accepted into the Nursing Program. First preference to Stockton resident; second preference to graduate of a rural HS in the HCC district. 3.0 min GPA preferred, 2.5 min GPA required. Financial need considered.





Margaret and Clarence Mitchell Scholarship



Student must live in NW Illinois with preference to an Oregon High School grad. Must be in the upper 50% of their class with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and in financial need.





Marion Byram Scholarship



Student must be a Stephenson County resident and non-traditional student.





Marjorie Kleckner Roberts Memorial Scholarship



Awarded to a full-time student pursuing an Assoc. of Arts or Science degree, either residing in Jo Daviess County or a graduate of a high school in Jo Daviess County.





Mark Jansen Memorial Scholarship



First preference for students participating in HCC theatre performance; second preference to music or theatre majors. Min GPA 3.0 preferred.





Mary Gregory Warthen Scholarship



Student must be non-traditional (i.e. 1st generation, returning adult, single parent, low income, etc.) and be pursuing a degree in the field of education. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.





Matthew and Evelyn Grouchy Vocal Music Scholarship



Full-time female students studying vocal music. Enrolled/completed Applied Music I or Applied Music II, and participating in a vocal ensemble at HCC. Financial need a consideration, GPA of 2.75.





Michelle E Berberet Scholarship



Full-time student, who is a resident of the HCC district, with a 2.5 GPA minimum. Preference to a Journalism major, other communications field will be considered. Financial need will be a consideration.

R.C. Miller Agriculture Scholarship



Student must be entering fall semester pursuing a degree in Agriculture, especially in conservation.





Rawson Engineering Scholarship



Student must be pursuing a degree in the engineering field and have a minimum GPA of a 2.5. The student must be a resident of Stephenson County.





Richard A. Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship



Student must be participating in HCC sports; First preference to baseball player in Stephenson County. Second preference to any HCC baseball player. Third preference to any HCC athlete. Min 2.5 GPA is preferred





Richard Ames Memorial Scholarship



Full-time HCC freshman or sophomore majoring in Computer Science or related fields; financial need may be considered. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or better.





Robert & Lois Harlan Scholarship



Full-time student majoring in humanities/social science or science program pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher maintaining 3.00 GPA; resident of HCC district.





Roger A. Hutmacher & Virginia L. Hutmacher-Ames Scholarship



Student must be full-time, first preference Orangeville High School graduate, second preference to Freeport HS. Financial need is a consideration.





Ronald & Betty Norman Memorial Scholarship



Freeport High School graduate who is in at least one varsity sport at HCC and in financial need.





Scholarship in Memory of Duane Simler and Wayne Derrer



Student must be a full time sophomore. First preference to Eastland or Pearl City alumni majoring in Agriculture. Second preference to any student with financial need majoring in Ag-related field.





Sentry Insurance Foundation Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship



Preference to student of Color historically underrepresented at HCC, majoring in Business, Economics, Computer Science/IT, Mathematics, or Accounting. Minimum 2.5 GPA.





Solutions Bank Scholarship



Student must be pursuing an Applied Science Degree or Certificate program in Accounting, Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Business, or Manufacturing Technology. Must reside in Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Winnebago or Stephenson County.





Stacy Hadjokas Memorial Scholarship



Designated to support basketball athletes at HCC. Full-time, international and in financial need.





Stateline Area Crime Stoppers Scholarship



Students must be a Stephenson City resident enrolled at HCC pursuing a degree/certificate in Criminal Justice. Minimum 2.75 GPA required.





Sylvia "Sue" Gorman Scholarship



Full-time students pursuing journalism, political science, or humanities/arts and participating in extracurricular activities. Sophomores preferred. Minimum GPA 2.5. Preference to Freeport High School grads





Thomas A. Ferguson Memorial Scholarship



Available to students within HCC district, with preference to Freeport High School graduate. Second preference to Stephenson County. First preference to student majoring in Business or Marketing. Minimum 2.75 GPA





Todd Engelkens Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship applications will be accepted from full or part-time students in the Equine Program; second preference to General Studies. Must live in the HCC District, minimum GPA of 2.0.





Virginia Ames Cosmetology Scholarship



Student participating in the HCC Cosmetology programs, in financial need, and full-time.





Wid Hance Automotive Scholarship



Student must be a resident of HCC district, full-time, majoring in Auto Mechanics/Auto body. Main criteria is academic excellence.





William and Margaret Donnelly Family Scholarship



Student must live in HCC District and have minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need is a consideration.





Women's Education Fund Scholarship



Non-traditional female students pursuing higher education at HCC. Financial need is a consideration.
